The desire to travel outside one's comfort zone and explore the world is a lifestyle which appeals to me greatly. I believe that I'm beginning to follow this lifestyle now as a fully fledged Londoner, and it will continue to be a a life that I aspire towards. I'm not one to limit myself to a small environment where everything remains the same and there's a constant sense of stability. There's nothing wrong with this, but it's just not fitting to my personality. Moving from Sixth Form in Liverpool to University in London has made me realise how much I love the idea of challenging myself, and constantly experimenting with new things. If I don't challenge myself, how likely am I to change? If something doesn't work out, I'm not disheartened; I will use it as a learning curve. I'd rather go about life with the intention of aiming high and reaching towards any possible opportunity to achieve my dream goals. If not, I'd simply play life safe, and I don't wish to live this way.
Good evening everyone, and Merry Christmas! It's a frosty day outside, so sitting by the fire watching Christmas films is my favourite way to spend the festive day. Whilst sat by the fire, I thought I'd quickly share a festive inspired post with you all whilst you're enjoying your own Christmas day.
Upon travelling to work via the underground this morning, I came across a sight which stayed in my mind for the rest of the day. I took a seat on a rather empty carriage to find myself facing three females. They progressed in age from left to right: firstly, a child of about ten years, then an middle aged woman (likely her mother), and then an elderly woman sat alone. The elderly woman was reading British Vogue. My eyes were initially drawn to her due to this magazine that she held in her hands. I instantly recognised it as I'd read it myself just a day before, so I was aware of the article that she was intently reading. It was an interview between Sarah Harris, Vogue's fashion features director, and Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior's latest revolutionary creative director.
Happy Tuesday everyone! The winter weather has finally hit London; I'm currently sat in a coffee shop in Covent Garden escaping the ice cold temperature as I wait for my next lecture. A change in season means a change in outfits, so I'm looking forward to sharing this first winter look of the year with you all!
How does one define Parisian style? Simple? Tailored? Effortless? Desaturated? Regardless of which specific definition, any of the above descriptions are like music to my ears. My recent trip to Paris coincided with Fashion Week, and whilst my main priority was to be shooting street style and model portraits, I wanted to fit in with those clear Parisian street style stars who were encompassed in style and individuality.

September is finally here! I say 'finally' because I'm so ready for autumn and winter outfits to re-emerge in my everyday looks! I feel like everyone conforms to the stereotypical outfits throughout the summer season (bright colours, floral prints, and the general bohemian trend, to name a few types). This can be great, as it is summer after all, but I tend to go along the simplicity route instead. For much of the time, I'm less inclined to dress according to the season during summer, but from autumn, this changes completely. The beginning of September means the beginning of my favourite trends in fashion.
Good morning from Santorini! It's a beautiful day here as always, and I'm currently sat sunbathing and admiring the picturesque view from my hotel. I've been on this stunning Greek Island for almost a week now, and I could happily stay here forever!
Hello from Santorini! This is my second visit to the iconic Greek Island, and I can easily say that it is as equally, if not more beautiful. Quite simply, I see this place as heaven on earth. It's simplicity makes it so stunning, and the most picturesque place I've ever been to. I'm so happy to be having a long break here, and can't wait to explore all that the exquisite island has to offer!

I have just finished my first year of University after recently taking exams, so my long summer has finally begun! I'm going to be blogging much more frequently in the next few months, which I'm extremely excited for. I'm travelling to Budapest on Monday for a short break with friends, so my next posts are going to be in the beautiful Hungarian setting! Anyway, onto my final Milan post.

Good evening! This is my first blog post after returning from beautiful Milan, which was such a wonderful and stunning city to visit. As one of the fashion capitals of the world, I have long wished to visit the stunning Italian city, and see for myself its aura and charm which is the home of many top fashion houses: from Prada, to Valentino, to Dolce & Gabbana, to Versace. After returning from my short break there, I can easily say that it did not disappoint!
I couldn't help but channel massive Lana Del Rey vibes this week as a styled her literal lyrics: 'Blue Jeans' and a 'White Shirt'. In all honesty, I've never owned a pair of blue jeans before; I've always been too scared that I couldn't pull them off! But as culotte shaped trousers are a massive trend at the moment, when stumbling across these culotte blue jeans in zara, I bought them on impulse. I'm so happy that I did; though they are a statement trouser, I think they can be styled really well, especially with monochrome colours!
There's nothing better than admiring London's famous tourist spots, despite the fact that I am now a Londoner! With this stunning setting just a short walk from where I live, I took a trip here today with my friend following Uni. In just one spot, you have an incredible 360 degree view of some of London's most renowned architecture, from the Shard to Tower Bridge to the Gherkin! It is most definitely one of my favourite spots to visit in the city.
Hello!! Ahh, my first post after London Fashion Week! I apologise for taking a week to upload, but I was so exhausted after running around for six days straight! But I'll be posting regularly now, starting today! Today's outfit was dominated by Zara purchases (what a surprise). My friend and I spent the day in two of our favourite places in London: Shoreditch and Camden. There was so much cool street art that it would have been a wasted opportunity to not take equally cool photos!! I'm really happy with how these pictures turned out, especially as the abstract wall art juxtaposes my entirely monochrome outfit.
Nothing says winter more than a classic cape coat. Whether it be short or long, I've always found that capes are timeless; they do not fade out of AW collections as they are continually perceived as stylish. It's now officially December, which means that winter is upon us. Only two days into the festive month and I've already worn a cape, as it suits almost any outfit and has such an elegant and fashionable fall. As monochrome colours are a personal preference of mine in outfit choices, I find that, more often than not, I wear a cape with all black, as it is such a classic colour which looks effortlessly chic. London is in full Christmas spirit right now, and there's nothing I love more than waltzing around the capital in a dressy yet apt cover up! Have you got your cape ready for Christmas? I'd love to know!
Consuming the entire three floors of the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, London, Chanel's Mademoiselle Privé exhibition showcased the history of Gabrielle Chanel, and ways in which her renowned fashion house has been re-invented through an 'enchanted journey' under Karl Lagerfeld. The combination of heritage and modernity radiated throughout the exhibition, allowing visitors an insight into Lagerfeld's creational changes which have modernised the house for the trends of today.
What I found with Mademoiselle Privé was that it appealed to all of the senses through the numerous aspects of the brand, from haute couture to fragrance to accessories. The sensory room room in particular allowed visitors to touch the vast variety of fabrics used to create the brands couture clothing, from delicate silks to the renowned tweed materials used for Chanel's signature staple suits. This sensory room lacked light, allowing visitors to experience the materials for their texture rather than visibility. Appealing to sight and smell was the futuristic factory room showcasing the ways in which the signature Chanel No. 5 perfume is created, both through large vats which continually opened and closed to reveal coloured scents used in the perfume, as well as a complimentary free workshop available for all visitors to experience. Another appeal via scent was the French garden, a stunning room filled with fresh green hedges carved in a pattern which was representative of the designers 'C' based logo.
What Mademoiselle Privé lacked was traditional pieces of Chanel couture clothing so that visitors were able to discover how Lagerfeld has maintained the origins of the house in his modernised collections. However, there was a great insight into Chanel's lifestyle through the places which influenced her as a designer. Even before entering the exhibition, visitors were guided through a garden leading to the exhibitions entrance, which was designed by Harry and David Rich to reflect the designers different moods in relation to her creations. Visitors were introduced to the exhibition by literally stepping into a replica of Chanel's renowned Rue Cambon apartment, the famous mirrored grand staircase being the main attraction for all to see. It's grandeur caused one to naturally visualise Chanel's models walking down the staircase in the house's early couture shows to present items of clothing which would go on to define one of the most influential fashion houses in society. This room was one of my personal favourites as it truly encompassed the traditional house of Chanel.
However, as a great admirer of Chanel's haute couture, a favourite of mine in the exhibition was this very room. I was astounded by the presentation of the clothing; the spirit of Chanel pervaded the room as bright, beaming poles of light served to hold mannequins in a way which captured a ghost like tone to each piece, perhaps hinting at Gabrielle's presence even in modern collections of today under the direction of Lagerfeld. Though at the same time, the presentation of the haute couture items allowed visitors to discover the embroidery detail involved in each piece of clothing, this detail in itself the main purpose of haute couture, as it is the maintenance of 'a tradition and attention to every detail that defines this exceptional quality and perfection'.
Mademoiselle Privé was an insightful exhibition for any visitor, as its presentation was unexpected yet creative in showcasing the history of Gabrielle Chanel and multiple sensory appealing aspects of her brand. Entering and leaving the exhibition through the Chanel inspired gardens left visitors feeling encompassed in Gabrielle's world, thus a great way of illustrating her continual presence in Lagerfeld's adaptation of Chanel today.

After some incredible inspiration I have decided to begin blogging again, though this time on a much more frequent and dedicated level. Over the past year I have completed my A Levels, and the results I received in August allowed me to secure my place to study English Literature at University in London. I have long wished to live in London and now that I am here, I'm both extremely grateful for the incredible opportunity and massively excited to explore all that the wonderful city has to offer! As mentioned, I hope to be posting very frequently as there are so many events being hosted in London as one of the most influential cities in the world, particularly relating to art and fashion.
Setting into London wasn't too difficult, as I was so keen to explore the city. Most importantly, the week following my arrival in September was London Fashion Week. As it was my first time being in London during fashion week, I didn't have the opportunity to be involved in the backstage aspects of the shows, however that didn't stop me from researching the event locations, as I wanted to gain a true sense of what fashion week was all about, and how the capital responded to it. I was astounded by the amount of young girls like myself waiting outside all of the shows, and the individuality each one of them had in their outfit choices. I was lucky enough to meet some of the many leading figures in the industry, from Alexa Chung to Poppy Delevingne, and was also lucky enough to see the iconic Anna Wintour herself, though didn't dare ask for a selfie as she is so rarely seen in one! I hope that as I am now settled in London, I will have the opportunity to work during fashion week in February, and gain even more insight into one of the four crucial weeks of fashion month.
I can't wait to begin posting again; it's been far too long!!
