Good evening everyone! I was looking through all of my blog posts this week and realised that today marks a year since I uploaded my first post! So today's the day to celebrate what has truly been an amazing year for me!

In all honestly, when I first had the thought to begin a blog, I didn't imagine that I would be here after a year. I'd always wanted to involve myself in the fashion industry, and as an avid Instagrammer, I'd often browse the increasingly popular blogger type of accounts with stunning photographs and inspiring outfits. It seemed like so much fun, and it was rapidly growing as a feature of the modern fashion industry. So I thought, 'why not give it a try?'

Starting a blog initially seemed extremely frightening and intimidating, but I'm so glad that I did it. A blog is your own, and I think that the blogs that are most successful are those which don't follow typical trends and instead try to achieve their own identity. I'd like to hope that I've established my own identity on this blog over the course of the past year, but this will continue to be my aim as I further develop Faye-Isabella.

London's influence upon my blogging has been remarkable. It was one of the many reasons that I wanted to blog seriously, as there's so much opportunity in this wonderful capital city which I am still exploring and being inspired by. My first posts, for example, were reviews of two astounding fashion exhibitions which opened when I first moved here. Mademoiselle Privé & Louis Vuitton: Series 3 were the perfect starting points for me, allowing me to explore writing through reviews, as well as composing videos to showcase these exhibitions with as much style as possible.

What I've loved most about blogging over the past year is how much it's allowed me to explore many interests of mine in the fashion industry. I've been able to publish my writing for anyone to see, which, as an aspiring journalist, is the perfect experience for an ever-increasing online platform of the industry. I've also been fortunate enough to collaborate with brands, most recently Boux Avenue, who selected me as one of their student ambassadors. I was incredibly honoured to be chosen by such a renowned company, and it really is an uplifting compliment to my blog which has encouraged me to continue! The most typical feature of blogging is outfit posts, which I've featured many times, and which I've completely enjoyed creating. I love being able to express my own style to everyone reading this, and selecting pieces to put together is very fun and rewarding to see when I finalise a post!

One area which I did not expect to explore deeply in response to blogging was photography. I have so much fun uploading my outfit posts onto this blog, but I've found that I equally love being behind a lens, as I'm able to demonstrate my own perceptions of people through framing a capture. I've had the opportunity to photograph so many influencers at Fashion Week who I admire and aspire towards. The response to my London photographs has been nothing but uplifting, and encouraged me to travel to Paris for Fashion Week in September which was one of the most wonderful experiences I've had. Photography is vital to both fashion and magazines, and if I hadn't started a blog, I doubt that I would have explored it. I'm so incredibly glad that I did.

It's always been a dream of mine to write and edit for an established fashion magazine. After running my own blog for a year, I feel like I'm one step closer to this being achieved. So thank you so much to you all for visiting and through reading this, helping me on this journey. I still have a long way to go to accomplish my goals, but I hope that one day I'll get there.
