Archive By Alexa: Season 2

Good evening everyone, and Happy Halloween! I had so much fun celebrating the occasion over the weekend, and spending hours creating the coolest make up looks! But turning my attention to the focus of this post: Archive by Alexa. Back in April, I published a post on Alexa's collection with Marks & Spencer, which is one of my most popular and most read posts to date! So I'm back with a new post in celebration of her new collection.

Earlier this year, Alexa Chung released her debut collection with Marks & Spencer titled: Archive by Alexa. The spring collection, a mixture of M&S's archive and Alexa's own personal style, was a great success, and hugely popular with women of all ages. As of tomorrow, the public will be pleased to discover a new winter based collection between Alexa and M&S, full of new clothes, new shoes, and an entire new winter wardrobe for women. Today, in celebration of this, I travelled to M&S on Oxford Street to see the opening of the collection, and meet Alexa herself.

In contrast with the spring collection which was dominated by pastel colours and pretty, playful designs, the winter collection takes on a much more masculine form, and as Alexa describes, is 'more grown up'. From tailored items to structured shirts, the collection reaches out to women of all ages. The need for a winter collection called for more outerwear, and so season 2 of Archive by Alexa focuses a lot on winter coats, which are sure to be the most popular items in the collection. If you're in need of a new winter coat, be sure to check out the collection. The Crown Jacket is the perfect beige faux fur jacket, with a cosy hood and modern ring-pull zip. The Briggate Trench is a super chic and stylish PVC mac with a retro buckle belt and pointed collar. The Templar Coat is is a remodelled version of a classic M&S girl's coat, featuring a delicate velvet collar, velvet pockets, and double rows of shiny gold buttons. Amongst other key outerwear pieces, each coat is completely different, therefore allowing the collection to cater to a vast variety of women.

A clear favourite of mine amongst the second collection has to be the Clarendon Tux, which is the perfect statement suit that is sure to remain in fashion for a long time. Alongside this, the stunning silk blouse has a beautiful pointed collar which falls perfectly over the velvet tailored tux. Alexa has made sure to maintain some prints in the collection, most notably the striking kimono print which features on the Albion Blouse, enhancing its elegant, elaborate natureMany of the items compliment one another perfectly, so needless to say, it's likely that you'll want to purchase many, if not all, of the items! There is certainly more emphasis on evening wear in this second collection, so it should be a hit at Christmas time due to its clear party spirit. It is completely fitting to autumn/winter trends, but has a signature look which resembles both M&S and Alexa.

Today, at the unveiling of the collection, I was lucky enough to see Alexa introduce the pieces, as well as DJ for her guests! M&S gave their Oxford Street store a party-like atmosphere, hinting at the filmic world which dominates the backdrop of the collection. Alexa herself styled the the stunning long velvet black dress and spent the evening playing party tunes in accordance with the Halloween holiday! It was a wonderful celebration to mark the release of the second Archive by Alexa collection.

Check out my photos of the collection as well as the launch event below, and let me know your thoughts in the comments box! Wishing you all a wonderful Halloween!

  6. I thought the whole concept for the collaboration was genius! It's basically a curated collection with pieces already debuted by M&S, which I've never really seen done before with another brand and influencer! I look forward to the new collection! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have the best week ahead!
